How can I better understand Charles Petzold’s “Code” book?

I've started reading "Code" by Charles Petzold after hearing great things from my seniors, but I'm finding it pretty confusing. I'm stuck, especially on topics like logic gates and relays—there seem to be so many of them, and I'm just not getting it. I'm considering going back to reread the binary chapter and taking thorough notes, since I have some free time right now. I'm also juggling a CS50 course at the same time, so any tips to help me grasp the material would be really appreciated!

Have you thought about using AI tools like chatbots to summarize the chapters for you? It could save time and give you a clearer overview without feeling overwhelmed.

You might find it easier to understand the concepts if you actually start building something with logic gates. Instead of just reading, maybe try hands-on projects or simulations that can help you visualize how everything works.

What part of logic gates is tripping you up? If you can narrow down your questions or specific concepts, the community could probably help you out. I've got a background in electrical engineering and I’d be happy to help!
