I set Google Chrome as my default web browser, but searches typed into Chrome's address bar still use Bing, shown by the Bing logo. I'm confused about the difference between a browser and a search engine—how can I make Chrome search with Google instead?

You can also choose DuckDuckGo in the same search-engine settings if you prefer a service that focuses more on blocking trackers.
If Bing keeps coming back after you change the setting, check Chrome’s extensions and uninstall anything unfamiliar. Security software such as Norton or McAfee can sometimes add or change the search provider.
Chrome is the web browser, while Google and Bing are search engines. To switch to Google, open Chrome’s Settings, go to Search engine, and choose Google as the search engine used in the address bar.
That clears up my confusion—I thought making Chrome my default browser would automatically make Google the search engine too.
