I accidentally caught my headphone cable in my chair, which pulled part of the metal out of the front 3.5 mm headphone jack on my Fractal North case and bent the headphone plug badly. Since then, audio only plays through the right ear with any headphones I try. Is the front I/O panel or jack repairable, and are there practical alternatives if replacing it is difficult?

You may be able to replace just the front I/O assembly if Fractal sells it as a spare part. Since the physical jack is damaged and one stereo channel is missing, software settings are unlikely to fix the problem.
The cleanest fix is to contact Fractal about a replacement front I/O panel. If you would rather avoid replacing the panel, use the motherboard’s rear audio output instead, or connect a small USB-to-3.5 mm audio adapter.
You can bypass the damaged front jack by plugging your headphones into the rear motherboard port. A 3.5 mm switch connected to that rear output is also convenient if your speakers are already plugged in, since it lets you switch between speakers and headphones without repeatedly changing cables.
That usually is not a simple software change. The microphone and headphone jacks are wired for different functions, so swapping them would require compatible hardware and possibly rewiring. A replacement I/O panel, audio switch, or USB audio adapter would be more reliable.
The rear port is usable, but my speakers are connected there, so swapping cables is just inconvenient. I was wondering whether the microphone jack could be repurposed as the headphone jack through the motherboard connection.
