I copied all my files from an older iMac to a new Neo, and I'd like both computers to stay as close to identical as possible. If I edit a document on either machine, I want the change to appear on the other over my home Wi‑Fi. I tried file sharing, but updates seem to have a delay. Is there a way to force a sync before I start working, or is there a better approach for keeping selected files synchronized?

You can specifically enable Desktop and Documents syncing in iCloud Drive. Put the files you want available on both machines in those folders, and edits made on either computer will sync through iCloud. Check that syncing has finished before working offline, since it is not always instantaneous.
iCloud Drive can handle this. Enable it on both computers using the same Apple Account, then keep the files you want synchronized in iCloud Drive. Changes should propagate automatically, although there can still be a short delay while they upload and download.
So anything I want duplicated should be stored in one of the iCloud Drive locations, such as Desktop or Documents? Will edits sync automatically whenever I make a change?
