I think a small amount of water may have gotten inside the right earcup of my Sony wireless Bluetooth headphones after I used them shortly after showering. Since then, I've noticed a popping sound on that side. I'm worried about damaging them further and want to know the safest way to dry or clean them before using or charging them again.

Stop using and charging them for now. Remove any detachable ear tips, then gently wipe the exterior with a clean, dry, lint-free cloth. Turn the headphones off and leave them in a dry, well-ventilated place with the openings facing downward for at least 24–48 hours. Don’t use a hair dryer or put them in rice. Because you’re hearing popping, check the specific Sony model’s water-resistance instructions before testing it again—moisture around the driver could cause lasting damage.
If the headphones still work after drying, you can test them briefly at low volume. Avoid trying to force the moisture out with loud bass or audio-frequency videos, since that could stress the driver or worsen an existing problem. If the popping continues, stop using them and consult Sony’s repair or support guidance.

Thanks—I'll use a dry cloth and leave them powered off to dry before trying them again.
