I previously had a problem where the laptop would not boot into any operating system, and the troubleshooting suggestions I tried did not fix it. I want to open the laptop to perform a CMOS or BIOS reset. I removed all visible screws except the one marked with a keyboard symbol, but I cannot work out how to separate the bottom cover from the chassis. What is the correct and safest way to open a Medion Erazer Deputy P60?

Once all the screws are removed, the bottom cover is probably still held by plastic clips. Use a plastic pry tool or guitar pick to work carefully around the seam between the cover and chassis. Check the service manual or a teardown video first so you know where the clips and any hidden screws are located.
Before opening it, make sure you have checked the BIOS or UEFI reset options and fully described what happens during startup. A laptop failing to boot any operating system does not always require opening the case, and the exact symptoms can point to a different cause.
I already tried restoring the UEFI settings, but the problem continued. I am considering opening it because the reset did not resolve the issue.
A teardown guide for this model should show the proper order for removing the bottom panel. You will need a thin plastic tool to gently release the clips around the edge. Do not force the cover, and disconnect the internal battery as soon as the laptop is open before doing any work inside.
I do not have a guitar pick. Would a thin plastic ruler or another non-metallic tool work instead?
