I'm new to Windows after mostly using Macs. My work-issued Dell laptop runs Windows 11 Education. In Chrome, double-clicking a word selects the word plus the following space, but I'd prefer to select only the word. Is there a setting or workaround for that? Also, can I disable the Ctrl+Alt+Delete screen that appears before I can enter my password? I suspect my workplace administrator may have locked this down, but I'd like to know where the setting is.

To change the sign-in requirement, right-click the Start button, choose Run, enter `netplwiz`, and press Enter. Open the Advanced tab and clear “Require users to press Ctrl+Alt+Delete.” However, a work-managed laptop may enforce this through organizational policy, in which case the option may be unavailable or the change may be reversed.
For the text selection, double-click the word and, while holding the second click, drag slightly to the left before releasing. That usually removes the trailing space in Chrome and Edge. Another simple method is to double-click the word and then press Shift+Left Arrow to shrink the selection by one character. Selection behavior can vary between applications.
