USB tethering is no longer working unless I turn on USB debugging. I only want to share my phone's mobile data with another device through a USB cable, without enabling debugging. It worked previously but suddenly stopped. Is there a way to fix this?

USB debugging normally isn’t required for USB tethering. If it suddenly stopped, check that mobile data and USB tethering are enabled, try a different USB cable or port, and make sure the computer has the correct phone drivers. Restarting both devices can also help. If tethering still fails, your carrier may have restricted the feature or require a separate hotspot plan.
If you only need a wired internet connection, enable USB tethering from the phone’s network or hotspot settings after connecting the cable. USB debugging is intended for developer tools and should not be necessary. If the option is unavailable or immediately turns off, check for system updates and confirm that your carrier still allows tethering.
