I'm thinking about switching back to Apple, but battery life is a big concern. My current phone needs to be charged around three times a day, which is especially frustrating when I'm out. For people using an iPhone 17, how long does the battery typically last with normal or heavier use?

Needing to recharge several times a day usually points to a faulty battery or an app running constantly in the background. My iPhone 16 can last close to two days, even with apps like Instagram, TikTok, Messenger, and Spotify.
I’m dealing with something similar. My phone reports that the battery is normal, but it still drains much faster than expected.
Check your battery usage breakdown first. It should show which apps or system processes are draining the most power, even if the battery health still says 100%.
The battery has been great in my experience. Even with pretty heavy use throughout the day, it generally lasts until bedtime.
That’s reassuring. I mostly use my phone lightly, so it sounds like the battery should be more than enough for me.

I couldn’t share a screenshot, but I had already charged four times today and was charging again while typing. The battery health says 100%, so I’m starting to think the phone itself is the problem.
