I'm using an Intel Core i7-13700 with 64GB of DDR5 RAM across four sticks and two M.2 SSDs. I currently have a Corsair CX650M power supply and an 8GB RX 580, but my brother gave me an RX 5700 XT as an upgrade. Will the 650W PSU safely handle the system, or should I replace it with a higher-wattage unit first?

The 5700 XT is still a respectable upgrade from an RX 580, so there’s no issue using it in this build. Just avoid using questionable adapters, connect the GPU with the proper PCIe cables, and check that the system is stable during gaming.
A decent 650W power supply should be enough for an RX 5700 XT, since that card is generally recommended with around 600W. The CX650M should be fine as long as it’s in good condition, has the required PCIe power connectors, and isn’t extremely old or damaged.
I’d consider upgrading if you want extra headroom, especially because the i7-13700 can draw a lot of power under heavy workloads. A quality 750W unit would be a sensible choice, but 850W is not necessary just for this hardware.
