I found what appears to be a renewed RTX 3080 Ti with 12GB of VRAM on Amazon Mexico for 8,333 pesos, which is just under $500 USD. It is listed as being in excellent renewed condition, and I've had a good experience buying another excellent-condition renewed device from Amazon before. I've been out of the PC-gaming scene for a while, so I'm unsure whether the extra VRAM and performance are worth choosing this card over a similarly priced new RTX 5060 with 8GB. Is the renewed 3080 Ti a good deal, and are there any important drawbacks I should consider?

If it really is a 3080 Ti, it offers performance around the level of newer upper-midrange cards and is clearly ahead of the RTX 5060. The 12GB of VRAM is also more comfortable for modern games than 8GB. However, the 5060 is newer, more efficient, and comes with newer features, while the 3080 Ti has no meaningful warranty advantage unless Amazon’s renewal coverage is solid.
I’d also check whether you can find a renewed or secondhand RTX 4070 locally. It has similar gaming performance, uses considerably less power, runs cooler, and supports newer frame-generation features. A 3080 Ti can still be the better raw-performance deal, but only if the condition, return policy, and power requirements all check out.
There isn’t a 12GB RTX 3070 Ti, so the listing is probably for an RTX 3080 Ti. If that’s correct, it is substantially faster than a regular RTX 5060 and generally better suited to demanding AAA games. The main concerns are that it’s used or renewed, consumes much more power, and can run hotter. Make sure your power supply and case cooling can handle roughly 350W, and confirm the exact model before buying.
