I've been gaming on consoles my entire life and want to make the switch to PC gaming. I'm considering pairing a Ryzen 7 7800X3D with a Radeon RX 9070 XT, with the total build coming in just under $2,000. Is this a strong combination for the price, or are there better-performing parts at a similar cost? My main games will be Call of Duty, Warzone, and FIFA, but I'd also like enough performance to stream future games. I already have a PS5, so I'm fine playing certain console releases there while waiting for a PC version.

The only thing to keep in mind is that major console releases may not arrive on PC immediately. If you’re building mainly for Warzone, Call of Duty, FIFA, and streaming, though, this setup makes much more sense than waiting for a future PC port. You can always play games like GTA on your PS5 first and use the PC for streaming or switch to the PC version later.
For a first gaming PC around the $2,000 mark, this is already near the sweet spot. Entry-level systems cost much less, but stepping up from this combination usually means spending a lot more for relatively small gains. Just make sure you pair it with enough memory, a reliable power supply, and good cooling rather than putting the entire budget into the CPU and graphics card.
The build should come in just under $2,000, so I’m comfortable with that budget. This sounds like the combination I’ll go with.
That’s a very strong pairing and close to one of the better performance-per-dollar options available. The 7800X3D is excellent for gaming, and the 9070 XT should handle high-refresh 1440p gaming well, along with streaming. You’d need to spend substantially more to get a noticeable performance jump, so if the rest of the build has quality parts, this is a solid choice.

That works for me. Warzone and Call of Duty will be my main games, and I’m happy to wait for a PC release when necessary.
