I'm considering buying a used RTX 3080 for roughly $300–$330. At that price, is there any other graphics card that offers better gaming performance or value? I'm mainly interested in 1080p and 1440p gaming.

The 10GB model is still capable, but its VRAM can become a limitation in some newer games at high settings, especially at 1440p or 4K. The 12GB version is more comfortable for the long term, though it may cost more.
At around $300, the RTX 3080 is one of the strongest options on the used market. It performs similarly to newer cards that usually cost over $400, while also offering solid ray-tracing performance and DLSS support.
The main things to watch are the card’s condition and power requirements. The 3080 can draw around 330 watts, so a good-quality 750W power supply and a well-ventilated case are recommended. Older cards may also need new thermal paste if temperatures or fan noise are unusually high.
For the money, it’s hard to beat if you can find a healthy card below about $350. A used 3080 is generally a better value than similarly priced newer midrange cards, although newer models may offer more VRAM, lower power use, and longer driver support.
A newer card such as the 9070 GRE can be faster overall, but it costs noticeably more. At the $300 range, the 3080 remains the better value if power consumption and used-card risks aren’t dealbreakers.
The 1080 Ti can still perform well, but its lack of ongoing driver support makes the 3080 a safer purchase today.
