I'm planning a high-end PC that can handle gaming, video editing for a friend's YouTube channel, photography, 3D modeling, office work, and heavy multitasking. I often keep hundreds of browser tabs and several programs open at once. I play sim-racing games, DCS, indie games, AAA titles, and games such as Zenless Zone Zero. My PC budget is about $5,000, with some flexibility, and I'm planning to spend roughly $10,000 total on a redesigned desk setup. I'm located in the US, and monitors are not part of this particular build yet.

These are listed prices before discounts. I prefer buying new components and would like advice on where the build is overspending, whether the RTX 5080 is worth choosing over a 5070 Ti or Radeon 9070 XT, and where the budget would be better invested for both current performance and future upgrades. I also prefer an AMD processor and like the appearance of the selected AIO cooler.

The build can be optimized considerably without sacrificing your intended workloads. The 9950X3D is excellent, but it carries a large premium; a less expensive high-core-count processor may match or approach it in productivity while giving up only a small amount in gaming, depending on the title and resolution. Since you prefer AMD, compare AMD’s non-X3D high-core-count options as well rather than assuming the gaming-focused chip is automatically best for editing and 3D work.
For storage, start with a good 4 TB Gen 4 NVMe drive unless you have a specific professional workload that benefits from sustained Gen 5 speeds. Put the savings toward more practical upgrades such as additional storage, backup drives, calibrated monitors, or a better GPU at a reasonable price. Your selected AIO is fine if you like its design, although similarly performing 360 mm coolers can cost less. Also compare cases and memory kits carefully, because both appear to be priced far above what is necessary.
The biggest issue is value. An RTX 5080 at $1,900 is extremely overpriced, especially when a 5070 Ti costs several hundred dollars less and a Radeon 9070 XT can be around $730–$750. Depending on the software you use, Nvidia may still be preferable for CUDA and some video applications, but the price premium needs to provide a real benefit. If you specifically want a 5080, shop around rather than paying that much for the ASUS model.
The memory price is also wildly inflated; check that the specification is really DDR5-6400, not 64,000 MT/s, and compare several new kits. A PCIe Gen 4 SSD will feel practically the same as a Gen 5 drive for gaming, editing, and normal desktop use, while saving a substantial amount. The power supply is capable, but there may be less expensive models with the same quality and sufficient headroom. Use a parts-listing site for US pricing and check local retailers for current deals.
I’d rather use new parts, but I’m open to changing the GPU if the 5070 Ti is close enough to the 5080. If I step down to a 9070 XT, what would be a worthwhile place to put the money instead? I’d also like to keep the AIO if possible because I prefer its appearance.

I didn’t realize the SSD was Gen 5 when I chose it. I’d like to stay with an AMD CPU, but I’m concerned this advice is prioritizing gaming more than my editing and 3D work. I’m mainly looking for balanced changes rather than simply cutting the productivity side of the build.
