This is my first time putting together a custom gaming PC, and I'd like feedback on whether the parts are balanced and worth the money. The build currently includes an RTX 3080, but I'm unsure whether that price makes sense for a used 10GB card. I previously had a GTX 1660 and currently have temporary access to an RTX 2060, though it doesn't handle GTA V as well as I'd like. I'd prefer to buy a used GPU and keep that part of the budget around $400 if possible. I'm also open to suggestions for improving the SSD, memory, case, or other components without sacrificing gaming performance.

The build may be spending too much on components that don’t directly improve frame rates, such as high-end DDR5, an X3D processor, and an expensive case. A good Gen 4 NVMe SSD is only slightly more expensive than a slower model and would be a sensible upgrade, but I’d prioritize the GPU first. You could also choose a less costly case and redirect that money toward graphics performance.
A 3080 performs around the level of newer upper-midrange cards, but buying one at a premium can make the whole system poor value. Try to keep the rest of the platform sensible and avoid paying for luxury parts unless you specifically care about their appearance or features. With a well-balanced parts list, you can get performance close to a much more expensive system without actually spending that much.
The RTX 3080 is still capable, but $700 is a lot for a used 10GB model. Since you’re targeting around $400 for the GPU, I’d look at the used market for cards such as an RTX 3070, RTX 3080 if you find a genuinely good deal, RX 6800, or RX 6800 XT. Compare actual game performance, condition, and power requirements before choosing. At this budget, putting more money into the GPU usually helps gaming performance more than paying extra for premium-looking parts.
