I'm new to buying PCs and found a used system listed for $500 USD. It has a Ryzen 5 3500 processor, 32GB of Whalekon 2600 RAM, a GTX 1080 Ti Founders Edition, and a 1TB SSD. Is this a fair price, or would buying it be too risky?

I wouldn’t pay $500 for this build. The GTX 1080 Ti is still capable, but the Ryzen 5 3500 is older and the memory is relatively slow. Around $300 would make more sense, while roughly $400 might be acceptable depending on the condition and the rest of the parts. For $500, you can find a newer system if you’re patient or build one by sourcing parts yourself.
No—not at that price. There are better-performing used systems available for around the same money, so I’d keep looking instead of taking the risk.
