After about eight years with my previous PC, I built a new system with an NZXT H9 Flow RGB+, Ryzen 7 9800X3D, RTX 5070 Ti, MSI MAG X870E Tomahawk MAX WiFi, 64GB of DDR5-6000 CL30 memory, and two Samsung 990 Pro NVMe SSDs—a 1TB drive for the operating system and a 4TB drive for games. I'm enjoying the build, but a friend is offering me an RTX 5090 at MSRP. Would the 5090 be a meaningful upgrade from the 5070 Ti, especially for 4K gaming? Also, does a 5090 physically fit in the H9 Flow without pressing against the glass or creating problems with the power cable?

An offer at MSRP is not automatically suspicious if it is coming from someone you know who changed their mind about the purchase. Still, verify the exact card model, dimensions, condition, warranty, and that the transaction is safe before committing. The H9 Flow generally has enough space, but the specific 5090 model and cable clearance are the details to confirm.
At 4K, the 5090 would be a substantial upgrade and is where that card makes the most sense. It should fit in the H9 Flow, but check the exact model’s length, thickness, and power-connector position because 5090 dimensions vary. Leave plenty of room for the power cable and avoid sharply bending the connector near the card.
The performance jump should be very noticeable, including at 1440p, but whether it is worth the price depends on your games and settings. If you are happy with the 5070 Ti, the upgrade is more of a luxury than a necessity, even with the unusually good MSRP offer.
I do have a 4K QD-OLED monitor, so I could take advantage of it. My hesitation is spending another couple thousand after already investing heavily in the new build, although the extra VRAM is tempting. I’m glad the case should accommodate it; I was mainly worried about the cable pushing against the glass.
