For the past two or three months, incoming Microsoft Teams calls on several Samsung Galaxy XCover7 Pro devices have automatically answered in speakerphone mode. The phones are managed with Microsoft Intune and run Teams for Android. Users have to switch to the handset manually after every call. Has anyone found whether this is caused by a Teams, Android, One UI, Samsung, or Intune change, and is there a reliable fix or setting to prevent it?

Check the Samsung accessibility settings under Answering and ending calls, especially any option that answers calls using the speaker. Also review Bixby Routines and device-management policies for an audio-routing rule. The regular phone dialer’s settings are worth checking for comparison, but Teams uses its own calling interface, so that setting may not control Teams calls.
Teams for Android generally follows the audio route provided by the device and does not offer a setting for a default speaker or handset output. Since this started across multiple phones around the same time, compare the Teams and One UI versions and test one device on an earlier Teams build if possible. That should help distinguish an app or operating-system change from an Intune policy.
Could a proximity-sensor issue cause this? If something covers the sensor, I would have expected the speakerphone to turn off rather than on.
