I've been dealing with recurring monitor blackouts and apparent disconnects for almost a year. I've had the PC for about a year and a half, paid to have it inspected and optimized, and replaced all of the display and power cables recently. The problem disappeared for about a month but has now returned frequently, especially while recording Minecraft with shaders. Sometimes I have to hold the power button because the system becomes unusable. On a few occasions, the screen went black again immediately after entering my password, and once it happened before the login screen even appeared. The PC also shut off right after I closed Minecraft. The issue has been difficult to reproduce during testing. My system has a Ryzen 9 7900X, Gigabyte B650 Eagle AX motherboard, 32GB of RAM, and an RTX 3070. I don't currently remember the PSU model or wattage. What hardware or software should I test first?

The strongest suspect is the power supply, particularly because the failures seem more common during GPU-heavy Minecraft sessions. An aging, defective, or underpowered PSU can cause black screens, sudden shutdowns, and failed restarts. Find the exact PSU model and wattage, then check that the GPU power cables are firmly connected. I’d also test with a different known-good PSU if possible, update or clean-install the graphics driver, check BIOS settings, and monitor CPU/GPU temperatures. Since you’re using a Ryzen 9 7900X with an RTX 3070, the PSU quality matters quite a bit.
This sounds more like a graphics or system stability problem than a monitor problem. First, note what remains powered when the screen goes black: if the fans, lights, and audio continue, suspect the GPU, driver, or display connection; if the entire computer restarts or powers off, look more closely at the PSU, motherboard, temperatures, or memory stability. You can try Win+Ctrl+Shift+B to reset the graphics driver, and run `sfc /scannow` after the system is stable. Also check GPU temperatures, reseat the graphics card, verify its power connectors, and temporarily disable EXPO/XMP to test RAM stability.
I’ve already tried the suggested software fixes with an AI troubleshooting guide. They sometimes had an effect before the display disconnected, but didn’t help once the problem actually occurred.
