My monitor occasionally loses its display signal while I'm playing games, and when it happens the PC's fans suddenly become very loud. The system doesn't seem to restart or shut down normally. It's a prebuilt PC that I upgraded about four years ago, with a Ryzen 7 5700X, RTX 3060, and 32GB of DDR4 RAM. The issue happened while playing modded Minecraft. I've stress-tested the VRAM, RAM, GPU, and CPU without reproducing an obvious problem. What could be causing this, and how should I troubleshoot it?

What exact power-supply model are you using? The wattage alone doesn’t tell us much, especially when diagnosing black-screen crashes under gaming load. Check the label and make sure the GPU power connector is firmly seated.
Double-check every display and power connection. A loose DisplayPort or HDMI cable can make the monitor go black, and a loose GPU power cable can cause a crash under load. If the external cables are secure, power the system off and reseat the GPU and its power connectors internally.
The external cables appear secure. I haven’t checked the internal connections yet, so I’ll inspect and reseat those.
The sudden fan noise often happens when the GPU or its driver crashes and fan control stops responding, causing the fans to fall back to maximum speed. Since the computer doesn’t recover properly, the power supply is worth investigating first. A failing PSU can briefly provide unstable power without immediately triggering a normal restart, though a GPU or motherboard fault is also possible.
I’ve had power-supply problems before, but that unit was replaced. I’ll still check whether the current PSU could be involved.
