Whenever I restart my phone, all of my calendar entries seem to vanish. Nothing else is deleted, and I still have about 22 GB of free storage. I'm not currently paying for extra cloud storage and don't want to spend $10 a month just to keep my calendar. How can I stop the calendars from disappearing?

Since you still have plenty of free phone storage, this probably isn’t caused by the device being full. Check which account your events were originally saved to and whether that account is still added after a restart. Also check Settings > Calendar > Default Calendar so new events aren’t being saved to a temporary or local calendar. Before changing anything, export or back up important events if possible.
The events may be hidden rather than deleted. Open Calendar, tap “Calendars,” make sure the account and calendar you normally use are checked, then pull down on that screen to refresh the sync. If the calendar account itself disappeared from the list, check Settings > Calendar > Accounts and confirm that Calendar is enabled for the relevant account.
Extra cloud storage isn’t automatically required for basic calendar syncing, so upgrading to a larger plan may not solve this. If the calendars keep disappearing entirely, remove and re-add the affected calendar account, install any pending system updates, and contact device support if the issue continues. It could be an account-sync or system problem rather than a storage limit.
I checked the Calendar screen, but the actual calendars are gone from the list rather than just unchecked.
