My OMEN 16 gaming laptop suddenly powered off while I was using it. The charger was connected, and the laptop is only about a year old, so this has never happened before. Now the only sign of life is a slowly blinking light on the power button; pressing it does nothing. I've already tried a few troubleshooting steps without success. What should I check next, and could this indicate a power or hardware problem?

Try a power reset: unplug the charger, hold the power button down for around 15–30 seconds, then reconnect the charger and try starting it again. Some models also have a small reset pinhole on the underside, but only use it if the OMEN 16 manual identifies it as a battery or emergency reset.
Disconnecting the internal battery can help determine whether the system will start from the adapter alone, but you shouldn’t open the laptop if you’re worried about the warranty or don’t feel comfortable doing it. Since it’s only a year old, contact the manufacturer or the retailer for warranty service if the power reset and charger checks don’t work.
A slowly blinking power light often means the laptop is stuck in standby or isn’t receiving enough usable power. Check that the charger is firmly connected at both ends, try another wall outlet, and inspect the cable and charging port for damage. If possible, test with a compatible genuine charger rather than a third-party replacement.
I removed the charger, but I can’t open the laptop to disconnect the battery. I’m also concerned that opening it could cause warranty problems.
