My new PC sometimes powers on without actually starting up. The liquid cooler fans spin and its LEDs briefly blink, but pressing the power button only makes the fans run—there's no display or normal boot activity. Previously, turning the power supply off, waiting, and trying again eventually worked, but now the system will not boot at all. The system has a Radeon RX 9060 XT, Ryzen 7 5700X, and 2x8GB plus 2x4GB DDR4 memory. The RAM is reused from an older computer, and the two pairs came from different sources. Could the mixed or older memory be causing this, and what should I check first?

Depending on the model, it may have a two-digit debug display, status LEDs for the CPU, memory, graphics card, and boot device, or a small speaker header for beep codes. These indicators can help identify which component is preventing startup. Since the motherboard apparently has no built-in LEDs, connecting a compatible diagnostic speaker may be useful.
