My PC randomly clicks off and immediately restarts while loading Silent Hill f, usually during the shader compilation stage when CPU usage stays near 100%. It does not happen in other games, possibly because they do not put the CPU under sustained load for as long. Reliability Monitor shows nothing useful, and Event Viewer only reports a Kernel-Power error indicating that Windows shut down unexpectedly. I previously had BSOD problems and replaced the SSD, which seemed to resolve those crashes, but this sudden shutdown issue has now started. I'm worried that another component may be failing. My system has an Intel Core i9-14900KF, MSI RTX 5070 Ti, MSI PRO Z790-P WIFI motherboard, 32GB of DDR5-6400 memory, a 2TB PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD, a 360mm liquid cooler, and a 750W 80+ Gold ATX 2.0 power supply. The power supply is the first thing I’d investigate. A sudden instant shutdown and restart under a sustained CPU load usually points to power delivery, overheating, or a protection feature triggering rather than a normal software crash. A 750W unit may be marginal depending on its quality and how the system is configured, so check the exact PSU model, all power connections, CPU and GPU temperatures, and whether the CPU is drawing excessive power. Updating the BIOS and running the processor at Intel-recommended power limits would also be sensible. If possible, testing with a known-good, higher-quality PSU can help confirm the cause.
