I have a Legion Pro 7 with an RTX 5080, Ryzen 9 9955HX3D, and a 240Hz OLED display. While gaming, a pink band of static occasionally appears along the top of the laptop's screen. It has happened in multiple games, including Cyberpunk 2077, but it does not appear on an external monitor connected to the laptop. The issue occurs with G-Sync enabled or disabled, at both 240Hz and 60Hz, and adaptive frame rate is disabled in the laptop, Windows, and NVIDIA settings. I have also installed the available updates and enabled the OLED burn-in prevention features. Could this indicate a defective display or GPU? My return window ends soon, so I need to decide whether to return the laptop or keep troubleshooting.

Since it only happens on the built-in display and not on an external monitor, the laptop panel, display cable, or its display controller seems more likely than the GPU itself. Try lowering the graphics settings and make sure the graphics drivers and system updates are current, since driver issues can sometimes cause temporary visual glitches.
Take a screenshot or screen recording the next time it happens. If the pink artifact appears in the capture, it is probably being generated by the GPU or software. If it is missing from the capture but visible to your eyes, that points more toward the OLED panel or its connection. Because the return period is nearly over, documenting it and having the store inspect it would be the safer option.
It has been happening in multiple games, and I am considering taking it back before the return window closes rather than risk being stuck with a faulty panel.
