I'm planning a system with a Radeon 9070 XT and 16GB of DDR5. I'll mainly play Minecraft, Roblox, Marvel Rivals, GTA 6, Modern Warfare 4, and Marvel 1943, along with general browsing and watching YouTube or livestreams. The Ryzen 5 7600X3D and Intel Core Ultra 5 250KF cost nearly the same for me. Which processor would be the better choice for this build and workload?

The Ryzen 5 7600X3D remains a very good gaming-focused option and pairs nicely with the 9070 XT. It should perform around the same as the 250KF in many games, and the 3D V-Cache can help in titles that benefit from extra cache. Choose it if gaming is your top priority and you prefer the better AM5 upgrade path.
Both are reasonable choices for this build. The Intel chip makes more sense if you want stronger multicore performance for Minecraft workloads and general productivity, while the 7600X3D is the safer gaming-first pick with a more attractive platform for future CPU upgrades. Also consider moving to 32GB of DDR5 if your budget allows, since 16GB may become restrictive in newer games and while multitasking.
The Core Ultra 5 250KF is probably the stronger overall choice here. Its higher multicore performance should help with things like Minecraft chunk generation and may be useful in demanding, CPU-heavy games such as GTA 6. Gaming performance should be fairly close between these two chips, while the Intel processor offers more extra CPU performance outside gaming. The main downside is the weaker upgrade path, since Intel’s next socket generation will likely require a new motherboard.
That upgrade limitation is worth considering. If you move to Intel’s next socket later, you’ll probably need to replace the motherboard as well.

Direct comparisons between these exact processors are limited, but the 250KF appears to be close to the faster X3D models in gaming, so the gap between these two may be small.
