I'm choosing between an RX 6700 XT priced at €280 and an RTX 3060 Ti priced at €220. The 6700 XT is somewhat faster and has 12 GB of VRAM, while the 3060 Ti is cheaper and offers features like DLSS. Is the extra €60 for the 6700 XT worth paying, or would the 3060 Ti be the better deal for 1080p or 1440p gaming?

At only €60 more, I’d lean toward the RX 6700 XT. It’s generally the faster card and the extra 12 GB of VRAM gives it more breathing room in newer games, especially at 1440p. The 3060 Ti is still a solid option if saving money matters more or if you specifically want DLSS and Nvidia features.
The 3060 Ti is probably the better value at €220. In many head-to-head tests, the two cards perform quite similarly, and the price difference is significant. Eight gigabytes isn’t automatically a dealbreaker yet, particularly if you’re playing at 1080p and are willing to adjust texture settings.
That said, some newer games can already run into 8 GB limitations. If you plan to keep the card for several years or play at 1440p, the 6700 XT’s 12 GB is a worthwhile advantage.
Before deciding, check the games you actually play. If they benefit from DLSS, ray tracing, or Nvidia-specific features, the 3060 Ti could make more sense. For straightforward rasterized gaming, especially at 1440p, the 6700 XT’s extra performance and VRAM are more appealing.
For a main gaming PC or TV setup, the 6700 XT is a very capable 1440p card and tends to run cool and reliably. I’d choose it if the extra €60 fits your budget. Otherwise, the €220 3060 Ti is a reasonable bargain and should still handle current games well with sensible settings.
DLSS is the strongest argument for the 3060 Ti, but the 6700 XT is powerful enough that you may not need upscaling as often. FSR can also look softer in some games.
