Should I Choose an Intel Arc B570 or Radeon RX 7600 for Fedora 44?

I'm looking for a graphics card to replace the integrated graphics on my Ryzen 5 5600GT system. I'm deciding between the Intel Arc B570 and Radeon RX 7600. The B570 appeals to me because it offers more VRAM and lower power consumption, but I've heard Intel GPUs can be more complicated to use on Linux. My system has 16 GB of RAM, and I'm wondering which card would provide the smoother experience on Fedora 44.

I'd lean toward AMD for this build because the whole graphics stack is mature and well supported. The RX 7600 should get dependable driver improvements through amdgpu, making it a good long-term choice. If you can stretch the budget, stepping up to an Arc B580 might be worth considering for the additional VRAM; otherwise, the RX 7600 is the no-drama pick.

The RX 7600 is the safer, simpler choice. AMD's amdgpu driver is already part of the Linux kernel, so there is generally less setup and troubleshooting involved. It's also a solid 1080p card, and the B570's extra VRAM usually won't make a major difference at that resolution.

Intel's Linux situation isn't as concerning as it used to be. A B570 should work well with a recent kernel and Mesa, both of which Fedora 44 provides. It could be a good option if you value the extra VRAM and lower power use, though it may still require more attention than the AMD card.
