I'm setting up a system with a Ryzen 7 9800X3D and an MSI MAG X870 Tomahawk motherboard. Should I download the chipset drivers from MSI's support page or directly from AMD? If AMD is the better choice, should I use the automatic detection tool or install them through Adrenalin? Also, do I need to install separate CPU drivers?

Use AMD’s official support page for the chipset package. Motherboard manufacturers often host older versions, while AMD usually provides the newest release. Select Chipsets → AM5 → X870 and download the current chipset installer. You don’t need a separate CPU driver for the Ryzen 7 9800X3D; the chipset package covers the relevant platform drivers. The automatic detection tool and Adrenalin are mainly intended for graphics drivers, so they aren’t necessary for installing the X870 chipset drivers.
The chipset manufacturer’s website is generally the better source for these drivers. For this setup, browse AMD’s driver downloads manually, choose AM5 and X870, and install the chipset package. You can skip the RAID component unless you’re specifically using a RAID configuration.
