I currently have 16GB of DDR4 RAM using two 8GB TeamGroup T-Force sticks. I want to upgrade to 32GB for streaming. Would it be better to buy two more identical 8GB sticks, or replace my current kit with a matched 2x16GB kit?

A matched 2x16GB kit is generally the safer choice. Using fewer sticks puts less strain on the memory controller, usually makes it easier to run the advertised speed, and leaves two slots open for a future upgrade. You could likely sell your current kit to help offset the cost.
The answer also depends on your platform and the RAM speed you’re targeting. On some AM4 systems, four sticks are fine, while others may need reduced settings. If you choose 4x8GB, matching the existing kit as closely as possible is important; otherwise, 2x16GB is the less troublesome upgrade.
Four 8GB sticks can work perfectly well, especially if they’re the exact same model and your motherboard and CPU support the desired speed. However, mixing separate kits—even with similar specifications—can cause stability problems or require lowering the memory speed and manually adjusting timings and voltage.
Do you think selling my current sticks would be straightforward enough to make the 2x16GB option worthwhile?
