I'm looking for advice about whether I should upgrade my current PC or keep using it for a while. It has a Ryzen 7 5700X, 32 GB of Corsair DDR4-3200 memory, and an RTX 5060 Ti with 16 GB of VRAM. With RAM prices and availability being uncertain, I'm wondering whether upgrading now makes sense and how long this system can realistically remain useful before moving to an AM5 platform becomes worthwhile or necessary.

That’s still a very capable setup, so I wouldn’t rush into an upgrade. AM4 won’t suddenly stop working or become unsupported, and there’s no point moving to AM5 unless your current performance is no longer meeting your needs.
If you want to extend the life of the platform without replacing everything, a Ryzen 7 5800X3D could be a worthwhile drop-in upgrade, especially for gaming. The extra cache can provide a noticeable boost, and it would let you stay on AM4 while saving the cost of a new motherboard and DDR5 memory.
There’s no urgent reason to upgrade because of a RAM shortage. Your 32 GB is already plenty for most games, and the RTX 5060 Ti is a good match for the system. Consider AM5 only when you need substantially more CPU performance or are replacing several parts at once.
Keep it until you’re genuinely unhappy with the frame rates or application performance. Your Ryzen 5000 system should remain usable for years, and normal software or operating-system updates aren’t likely to suddenly make the CPU obsolete.
