Should I Wait for Black Friday to Build a PC?

I'm putting together a gaming PC for my brother and trying to decide whether to buy the parts now or wait for Black Friday. Do PC components usually get meaningfully cheaper during the sales, or is it smarter to buy soon since prices seem to be climbing?

I’d watch retailers and local computer stores for bundle deals, particularly CPU-and-motherboard packages. If you find a good price on the important parts now, buying is safer than delaying purely in hopes of a sale.

There are already occasional budget bundles with a motherboard, memory, and SSD at reasonable prices, but the best offers may sell out quickly. Set price alerts, check return policies, and be ready to buy if a genuinely good deal appears.

That’s the catch: the best bargains can disappear fast, so I wouldn’t build the entire plan around finding one on the day.

Black Friday discounts are more common on motherboards, entry-level CPUs, cases, and bundled kits. The main expensive parts—especially graphics cards—often have limited discounts when demand is high, so I wouldn’t assume the complete build will be cheaper.

If people are already buying components at elevated prices, retailers have less reason to lower them. Memory, storage, and GPUs have been especially unpredictable, so waiting could save money, but it could also leave you paying more.

Some forecasts suggest RAM prices may rise further, with possible effects on other components as well. Because of that, a small Black Friday discount might not offset an overall price increase, so I’d compare current prices against historical tracking before deciding.
