My Vizio TV stopped connecting to the wireless network in my apartment after the building's Cox-provided Wi‑Fi password was changed. The TV reports only "Unable to Connect to Network," rather than indicating that the password is incorrect. Cox has checked the service and sent a technician, but they insist the problem is with the TV. I've entered the new password, factory-reset the TV several times, restarted the internet equipment, and even tried adjusting the DHCP settings, but nothing has helped. What else can I try to get the TV back online?

If the hotspot test works, ask the internet provider or property manager whether the network supports older 2.4 GHz devices and whether your TV needs to be registered by its MAC address. Some apartment systems also use a login or device limit even when they appear to be a normal Wi‑Fi network. It may also help to forget the saved network on the TV, restart it completely, and then connect again using the new password.
First, confirm whether the TV can connect to any other network. Turn on a phone’s hotspot and try connecting the Vizio to that. If it works, the TV’s Wi‑Fi is probably fine and the issue is with the apartment network’s settings or compatibility. The building network may have changed its security mode, band settings, or device restrictions when the password was updated.

I’ve only tried the apartment network so far, but testing with a phone hotspot should help narrow down whether the TV or the building Wi‑Fi is causing it.
