A Ryzen 5 7500F or 7600 is enough for a more budget-conscious 1440p or 4K gaming build, while a Ryzen 7 7800X3D or 9800X3D is a stronger choice if you want very high frame rates or plan to use a high-refresh monitor. Pair it with a reputable B650 or B850 board and make sure it supports the chosen CPU with its current BIOS.
You don’t need an expensive flagship motherboard for gaming. Look for a well-reviewed B650 or B850 model with the features you actually need, such as Wi-Fi, enough M.2 slots, and the desired USB ports. Also include DDR5 memory in the budget, since AM5 requires it. If you want a simple high-end gaming combination, the Ryzen 7 9800X3D with a quality B650 or B850 board is a safe option.
Before choosing parts, set a budget and decide which games and monitor resolution you’re targeting. A 9070 XT makes the most sense with a 1440p high-refresh or 4K display.
