I'm planning a new gaming-only PC and have a maximum budget of €6,000. I mainly play demanding AAA games such as Resident Evil, Cyberpunk 2077, Monster Hunter, God of War, and Horizon, and I want excellent performance at 1440p and 120 Hz with maximum or Ultra settings, including ray tracing whenever practical. I already own a monitor, keyboard, mouse, and headset, so I only need the computer itself. I'm looking for extremely smooth gameplay and strong image quality, but I don't want to overspend simply because the budget allows it. What configuration would offer the best balance of performance and value for this use case in France?

You can build an excellent 1440p system for far less than €6,000. A Ryzen 7 9800X3D paired with a Radeon RX 9070 XT would be a very strong combination for this resolution and should handle 120 Hz in most games at very high settings. AMD currently offers much better value here, while Nvidia generally has the advantage in ray tracing. A GeForce RTX 5080 is an option if ray tracing is especially important, but it costs substantially more without delivering anything close to twice the performance. A quality 360 mm cooler, fast NVMe SSD, and a suitable power supply would leave plenty of budget for additional storage or 48–64 GB of RAM, although more than 32 GB usually isn’t necessary for gaming alone. Keep in mind that poorly optimized releases can still perform badly on powerful hardware until the developers patch them.
For 1440p at 120 Hz, spending the entire €6,000 on the tower would be excessive. A well-balanced system around €2,500 should already exceed 120 FPS in many games, depending on settings and ray-tracing use. Since you already have a monitor, you could consider using some of the remaining budget on a higher-refresh OLED display, such as a 280 Hz or 360 Hz 1440p model, if you want a noticeable upgrade to image quality and responsiveness.
