I'm upgrading an older gaming PC primarily for World of Warcraft and a few less-demanding Steam games. My original system had a Ryzen 5 1500X, ASUS B350-PLUS motherboard, GTX 1060 6GB, 32GB DDR4, and a 550W power supply. So far I've upgraded to a Ryzen 5 5600, MSI B550M PRO-VDH WIFI motherboard, and a Crucial P310 1TB NVMe SSD. I'm planning to replace the GPU and PSU and move to a 1440p monitor. What graphics card and power supply would provide stable 1440p WoW performance without spending more than necessary?

Remember that WoW is often CPU-limited, particularly in raids, cities, and other crowded areas. Your Ryzen 5 5600 is capable, but a Ryzen 7 5700X3D or 5800X3D would be a bigger upgrade for WoW-specific minimum and raid FPS than buying an excessively powerful graphics card. For the GPU, an RX 9060 XT 16GB or RTX 5060 Ti 16GB is already more than enough for a sensible 1440p setup.
For WoW at 1440p, you don’t need an extremely powerful GPU. A card such as an RTX 5060 Ti 16GB, RX 9060 XT 16GB, or a similarly priced newer model should handle it comfortably. Aim for at least 12GB, preferably 16GB, of VRAM if you want the card to remain useful for newer games. Pair it with a quality 650W–750W PSU, depending on the card you choose.
An RTX 3070 would be plenty for WoW and could be a good used-market option around the right price. However, its 8GB of VRAM is less appealing for 1440p today, especially in newer games. I’d only choose it if the deal is excellent; otherwise, a newer 16GB card is a safer long-term purchase.
A 750W 80 Plus Gold unit from a reputable manufacturer would give you plenty of headroom and leave room for future upgrades. You could go with a higher-end RX 9070, RX 9070 XT, or RTX 5070, but that would be overkill for WoW with the Ryzen 5 5600. Spend less on the GPU unless you also plan to play demanding modern games.
The best choice depends on your budget and whether you’re buying new or used. For WoW alone, even a lower-midrange current-generation card will run 1440p well, and in-game settings can be adjusted if you want more visual quality. I’d prioritize a good-value card with more than 8GB of VRAM rather than paying extra for maximum performance you probably won’t use.
WoW itself won’t require anything close to a high-end GPU at 1440p, but the extra VRAM is still useful if you play other modern games or want to keep high texture settings.
