The Radeon RX 9070 XT looks like the strongest overall choice in this price range. It offers excellent 1440p performance and is generally a better value than similarly priced alternatives. If the XT model is too expensive, the regular RX 9070 is also worth considering.
A used RTX 5070 or 16GB RTX 5060 Ti could also save money if you buy from a trustworthy seller and verify the card works properly. For a straightforward 1440p upgrade, though, the RX 9070 XT is probably the easiest recommendation if it is available within your budget.
Nvidia cards are worth checking if you care about DLSS, ray tracing, or frame generation, but they may cost more in this budget range. If you find an RTX 5070 Ti or a 16GB RTX 5060 Ti below your maximum budget, either could be a reasonable option, especially for games that benefit from Nvidia’s features.
