I'm completely new to Linux and want to install it on an older Asus TP200S laptop with a Celeron processor, up to 4 GB of RAM, and roughly 30 GB of internal storage. I'll mainly use it for watching videos and possibly doing digital art with the touchscreen, so good touchscreen support is important. Since the internal drive is small, I'll probably use a microSD card for storing files. Which Linux distribution would be a good fit for this hardware and use case?

MX Linux with the XFCE desktop should be a solid choice. It runs well on low-end hardware, and touchscreen support worked properly on a similar older 2-in-1 without needing manual calibration.
You could also consider antiX. It’s designed for older, less powerful computers and uses very little memory—around 200 MB when idle—so it should feel responsive on that laptop.
