I picked up a Ryzen 5 7500X3D bundle with a B850M-C motherboard and one 16GB G.Skill Flare X5 DDR5 stick, plus a PowerColor 9060 XT 16GB graphics card. I'm planning to order the remaining components online and would appreciate recommendations for a cooler, power supply, storage, case, and anything else I may be overlooking. I'm mainly trying to find good value without making avoidable compromises.

The biggest thing I’d change is the memory. Add a second matching 16GB stick so you have 32GB running in dual-channel mode. A single stick will work, but it can reduce performance noticeably in some games and applications. For the rest, look for a reliable 650W or 750W 80+ Gold power supply, a 1TB or 2TB NVMe SSD, a case with decent airflow, and a CPU cooler if the bundle doesn’t include one. Check the motherboard’s socket and cooler compatibility before buying.
That was my main concern too. I’m coming from 2x8GB DDR4, but memory pricing and availability made the single-stick bundle tempting. I’ll compare the cost of another matching module before ordering anything else.
DDR5 modules still use two internal 32-bit channels, but one physical stick doesn’t provide the same bandwidth as two sticks across the motherboard’s memory channels. It’s still worth adding a matching module, especially with a gaming-focused CPU.
