I currently play on a PS5 Pro and am considering switching to PC gaming. My budget is ideally under $1,000, with an absolute maximum of $1,200 in the United States. I'd like to play at 100 FPS or higher while getting visuals close to the PS5 Pro, although I'm willing to accept lower settings or a downgrade if necessary. The games I'm interested in include Call of Duty, Battlefield, modded Minecraft, GTA, Forza, Fortnite, Garry's Mod, Cyberpunk 2077, Roblox, and other games in general. I've been researching prebuilt systems and budget builds, but I'm getting overwhelmed. What parts or complete build would you recommend for this budget?

Your target is realistic if you focus on 1080p high-refresh gaming, but matching or beating the PS5 Pro across the board will be difficult at $1,200 for the entire system. A solid AM4 build with a Ryzen 5 5600 or 5600X, 16–32GB of DDR4 memory, and a capable midrange graphics card can deliver very playable performance. You may need to lower settings in demanding games such as Cyberpunk or use upscaling.
A newer build around a Ryzen 7 7700 and a Radeon RX 7700 XT would be a stronger long-term platform, but it will probably land near or above $1,400 once you include the case, storage, power supply, and operating system. The RTX 4070-class and RX 7700 XT-class cards are closer to PS5 Pro graphics performance, but fitting one into a $1,200 complete build may require sales or buying some parts used.
For competitive shooters and games like Fortnite, a Ryzen 5 5600-class processor paired with a Radeon RX 6700 XT, RX 6800, or a similar used card can reach 100 FPS or more at 1080p. An AM4 motherboard and DDR4 memory help keep the price down. Make sure the power supply is a quality 650W or 750W model, and don’t spend so much on the processor that you have to weaken the graphics card.
Prices are rough right now, so I’d set expectations around a strong 1080p/144Hz system rather than a guaranteed PS5 Pro replacement. Prioritize the GPU, buy at least a 1TB NVMe SSD, and use 32GB of RAM if you plan to mod Minecraft or multitask. A prebuilt can be worthwhile if it has a clearly listed graphics card, a decent power supply, and standard components instead of proprietary parts.
