What PC upgrades make the most sense with a €600 budget?

I'm looking to improve my PC but I'm not sure where to begin. My current hardware is an AMD Ryzen 5 3600, 16 GB of dual-channel DDR4-3200 memory, an ASUS PRIME A320M-K motherboard, an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 4 GB, a 500 GB SSD, and a 1 TB hard drive. I have around €600 to spend and would like a worthwhile upgrade for gaming. What should I prioritize, and are there any compatibility or power-supply concerns I should check first?

An NVMe SSD would make Windows and applications feel more responsive, but it usually won’t provide the same gaming performance improvement as a graphics-card upgrade. Since you already have an SSD, I’d only prioritize NVMe storage if the current drive is nearly full, unusually slow, or you need more space. Your 16 GB of RAM is still usable, though moving to 32 GB could help in newer games and multitasking.

The GTX 1650 is probably the biggest limitation here, so I’d prioritize a graphics-card upgrade. A modern card with 16 GB of VRAM could be a strong choice if its price fits your region, but check your power supply’s exact model, wattage, and available power connectors before buying. You may need to replace the PSU if it’s an older or low-quality unit.

I’ll check the case and PSU label. I think the power supply is somewhere around 500–600 W, but I don’t know the exact model yet.

You can keep the AM4 platform for now. After upgrading the GPU, a Ryzen 5 5600 would be a sensible drop-in CPU upgrade, provided the motherboard BIOS supports it. A Ryzen 5 5500X3D or another compatible X3D chip could also be worth considering if you find one at a good price. Don’t forget to verify BIOS support for the specific processor.
