What Upgrades Should I Consider for My PC Before Forza Horizon 6?

I'm looking to upgrade my current PC setup as I'm gearing up for the release of Forza Horizon 6 next month. Here's what I currently have:
- GPU: Nvidia 2070 Super FE
- Motherboard: MSI MPG Z390 GAMING PLUS (LGA1151)
- CPU: Intel Core i5-9600K (overclocked to 5GHz)
- CPU Cooler: NZXT Kraken 240mm
- RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 32GB (4x8GB) DDR4 3200MHz
- OS Drive: Samsung 970 EVO Plus 500GB NVMe SSD
- Additional Storage: 4TB mixed SSD/HDD
- Case: NZXT H5 Flow with extra fans
- Monitor: Dell S3222DGM 32" QHD 165Hz

My current setup is struggling with Horizon 5, and Motorsport is even worse. Since RAM prices are high, I was considering maxing out this platform affordably. I found a used i9 9900K for $150, but I worry that's not the best use of my money given newer CPUs use DDR4 as well. Looking for any suggestions on upgrade paths that won't break the bank—ideally something that won't cost more than the Xbox.

Instead of upgrading piecemeal, you might consider selling your current setup and building a whole new one. A modern setup with a solid CPU like the Ryzen 5 7600 and a good GPU can offer a great performance boost without relying on older tech.

Upgrading to the i9-9900K might not bring the performance boost you're hoping for, considering your current GPU. I’d recommend looking into something like the Intel Core i5-12600K paired with a B760 DDR4 motherboard. It’s a solid upgrade path that still uses DDR4.

Thanks for the tip! I’ll keep that in mind. Any thoughts on GPU upgrades?

If you want to push 165 FPS at 1440p, your 2070 Super might hold you back. I suggest upgrading to a newer GPU like the RTX 4080, which supports DLSS 3.5 for frame generation. Keep your existing parts like your Kraken cooler and NZXT case—they're still excellent!

Take a look at the official requirements for Forza Horizon 6. Ideally, you should aim for at least an i5-12400F and an RTX 3060 Ti for a good experience. If you're willing to spend a bit more on a newer build, that could be a smart move.

If you're looking for a quick fix, grab an i7-8700K for around $120. It’s compatible with your Z390 motherboard and will give you more threads for smoother gameplay. It's a temporary fix but should help until you're ready for a full upgrade.

That sounds like a decent temporary solution. I’ll look into it!
