I'm in Sweden and want to upgrade my current gaming PC with a CPU and GPU budget of roughly $700–$800 USD. My current system has an i3-6100, a GTX 1050 2GB, and 32GB of DDR4 RAM that I'd like to keep. I play CS2, Minecraft, and do some light editing and multitasking, but I also want to play demanding single-player games at 1440p after upgrading. A possible combination is an i5-14600KF for about $250 and an RX 9060 XT 16GB costing around $500–$600 locally. Is that the best-value DDR4 combination, or are there better CPU and GPU options in Sweden?

An AM4 gaming setup using a Ryzen 5 5500X3D could be another DDR4-friendly route. Pairing it with an RX 9060 or RX 9070 would provide a good gaming balance, although availability and Swedish pricing should be checked before choosing it. The platform is older, so compare the complete motherboard, CPU, and GPU cost rather than judging the processor alone.
If the price is close, an RX 9070 GRE would be a stronger choice than the RX 9060 XT 16GB, with roughly 30% more performance. That difference will matter much more at 1440p in demanding single-player games than moving from a midrange CPU to a high-end one.
Don’t forget that this isn’t only a CPU and GPU upgrade. The i5-14600KF needs a new compatible motherboard, and you may also need a stronger CPU cooler and power supply. Once those costs are included, the 14600KF plus a $500–$600 graphics card may exceed the practical budget.
For 1440p story-driven games, I’d prioritize the graphics card more heavily. A cheaper DDR4 CPU such as the i5-13400F could still handle CS2, Minecraft, editing, and multitasking well while leaving more of the budget for a faster GPU. Also compare Swedish retail pricing rather than relying on US MSRP, since new graphics cards can be marked up significantly there. A used RTX 3080 could be worth checking too, provided the seller offers a proper return period.

The higher-tier GPU is probably the better long-term investment here, but make sure the total price still leaves room for the motherboard and power supply requirements.
