I'm looking to upgrade from my BenQ MOBIUZ EX2510, which is a 144Hz monitor. I mainly play Counter-Strike, VALORANT, and League of Legends, so I'm considering 1080p, although I'm open to 1440p if it offers a noticeably better experience. My requirements are an IPS panel, 24–27 inches, a flat screen, high brightness, good colors, and a 240Hz refresh rate. OLED isn't an option for me, and my budget is up to $400. What monitor would you recommend?

I’d strongly consider 1440p instead of 1080p, especially at 27 inches. A 1080p image can look noticeably pixelated at that size, while 1440p gives you a sharper desktop and game image without being excessively demanding for competitive games. At your budget, there are several 240Hz or faster 1440p IPS monitors available.
The LG 27GR83Q-B is worth checking out. It’s a 27-inch, 1440p, 240Hz IPS monitor and can sometimes be found around $279–$400. Even if you mostly play esports titles, 1440p at 27 inches looks much sharper than 1080p, and those games should still run at very high frame rates with suitable hardware.
I’ll check it out. I’m still unsure about OLED because my room gets a lot of light, but this seems like a good alternative.
Before upgrading, it’s worth deciding what you’re actually missing from your current monitor. If the main goal is simply moving from 144Hz to 240Hz, a 24- or 25-inch 1080p 240Hz IPS display will meet that goal. If you’re also looking for a clearly visible image-quality upgrade, 27-inch 1440p 240Hz is the better long-term purchase.
The INNOCN 27-inch GA27T1M is another interesting option. It has a 1440p Mini-LED IPS panel, strong colors, and plenty of image settings to customize. It may not be the obvious choice for everyone, but it offers a lot for the money if you can find it within budget.
For the highest-end competitive experience, look at IPS displays with NVIDIA’s Pulsar or similar motion-clarity features. Models such as the ASUS ROG Strix XG27AQNGV are designed around esports performance, although you’ll want to check current pricing because they may exceed your budget.
