I finally cleaned my gaming PC with a Wolfbox MegaFlow 200 after putting it off for a long time. I unplugged the power supply, held the fans still, kept some distance from the motherboard, and worked in the garage. Everything went fine, but I'm still not sure whether I was blowing dust into the PCIe slots or being overly cautious about static and air pressure. For people who clean their PCs regularly, what order do you use? Should I start with the filters, then fans, and finish with the heatsink, using short bursts from farther away, or do the exact angles matter less than beginners assume?

You don’t need industrial-level pressure for routine cleaning. A dedicated electric air duster is plenty; moderate pressure and a little distance are safer and easier to control than using an extremely powerful air source.
It gets less nerve-wracking with practice. The main things are to power the PC down, avoid touching components unnecessarily, and keep the airflow under control. You don’t need to obsess over every angle—dust generally follows the air out of the case.
A good approach is to work from the inside outward. Clear the heatsinks and internal fans first, directing dust toward an open side of the case, then clean the removable filters last so you don’t pull dust back through the system. Use quick bursts and keep the blower moving rather than concentrating air in one spot.
Your precautions sound reasonable. I usually open the case, shut the computer down, hold the fans in place, and move the air around quickly instead of blasting one component continuously. Afterward, letting the machine run briefly can help move any loose dust that’s still floating around, provided the case is reassembled safely.
The biggest avoidable mistake is letting a fan spin freely at high speed. Holding the blades still prevents unnecessary noise and reduces the chance of stressing the fan.
