I have Sony wireless Bluetooth headphones, and I think a small amount of water got inside the right earcup because my hair was still damp after a shower. Since then, I've noticed a popping sound on that side. I'm worried about damaging the headphones and don't want to keep using them if moisture is trapped inside. What should I do to dry or clean them safely?

Stop using and charging them for now. Remove any detachable ear tips, gently wipe the exterior with a dry lint-free cloth, and leave the headphones powered off in a dry, well-ventilated place with the openings facing downward for at least 24–48 hours. Don’t use a hair dryer, rice, or audio-frequency videos to force the water out, since heat, debris, or continued vibration could make things worse. Afterward, check the water-resistance guidance for your exact Sony model before testing them. The popping may mean moisture has reached the driver, which can cause permanent damage.

Thanks! I’ll use a completely dry cloth and leave them powered off while they dry.
