I'm choosing between the MSI B550M-A PRO, MSI B550M PRO-VDH, and Gigabyte B550M DS3H. I'm mainly comparing VRM quality, VRM cooling, and whether the board can deliver enough power for a Ryzen 5 5600 now and possibly an X3D processor a few years from now. Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are not important to me. Which board would be the best overall choice?

I’d also go with the B550M PRO-VDH. It has adequate memory support and is a more reassuring choice than the entry-level models if you plan to keep the system for several years. For a 5600, all three should work, but the PRO-VDH offers the best balance of power delivery and cooling.
The PRO-VDH should be sufficient for both your current processor and a later X3D chip, assuming the BIOS supports that processor. Some older BIOS versions were discussed as having issues, so check the board’s current BIOS version and update it if needed. Once updated, there generally shouldn’t be a problem using it for this build.
The MSI B550M PRO-VDH is generally the strongest option of these three. Its VRM and heatsinks are better suited to sustained CPU loads, and it should handle a Ryzen 5 5600 easily while leaving more headroom for a future X3D upgrade. Look for detailed motherboard VRM testing if you want to compare temperatures directly.
