I recently bought an AOC MiniLED monitor with a 2560×1440 resolution and a 360 Hz refresh rate. I'm deciding between two cables: a UGREEN DisplayPort 2.1 cable advertised with higher bandwidth and UHBR20 support, and a Vention cable listed at 54 Gbps, which appears to be UHBR13.5. Interestingly, the Vention is advertised as supporting 1440p at up to 480 Hz, while the UGREEN is listed at 360 Hz.
The seller has also given me conflicting information, saying the UGREEN cable only supports 1440p at 240 Hz even though its specifications claim otherwise. My main uses are gaming, streaming, and office work, and I have an RTX 5070 Ti. Which cable and connection would make the most sense?

UHBR20 means 80 Gbps of raw DisplayPort bandwidth, while UHBR13.5 is 54 Gbps. Both should be more than enough for 2560×1440 at 360 Hz, especially if the monitor uses DSC. The higher advertised refresh-rate limit on the Vention does not automatically make it the better cable; look for an actually certified DisplayPort 2.1 cable and check the monitor’s required bandwidth rather than relying only on marketing claims.
Make sure you’re comparing the same connection standard. DisplayPort 2.1 UHBR20 is different from HDMI 2.1, and older DisplayPort 1.4 connections have substantially less bandwidth. For a 1440p 360 Hz gaming display, either a properly certified high-bandwidth DisplayPort cable or the monitor’s HDMI 2.1 port should work, but the monitor’s manual is the final authority on supported refresh rates and color depth.
If both cables are genuine and meet their stated specifications, the Vention’s 54 Gbps rating is already sufficient for 1440p at 360 Hz. UHBR20 gives you more headroom, but it will not improve image quality or gaming performance by itself. I’d choose the cable with clearer certification, better construction, and a reliable return policy rather than choosing based solely on the claimed 480 Hz figure.

The monitor reports 8-bit output in the operating system, although its specifications describe it as 10-bit through 8-bit plus FRC. Does that make HDMI 2.1 preferable?
