I'm choosing a graphics card for 1440p gaming. RTX 3080 cards are selling for around $420 or more, while RTX 3080 Ti models are roughly $500+. I can also find an RX 6900 XT for about $440–$460. Which option offers the best overall performance and value? I'm also considering AMD because FSR 4 is expected to support the RX 6000 series.

I’ve used all three and ended up keeping the RX 6900 XT. For 1080p or 1440p multiplayer games with high textures and lower settings, it performs extremely well. I’d aim for around $400 if possible, but at $440–$460 it still looks better than a $500 3080 Ti.
At these prices, the RX 6900 XT seems like the most appealing option. It generally matches or slightly exceeds the NVIDIA cards in traditional rasterized gaming, has 16 GB of VRAM, and is cheaper than the 3080 Ti. All three should perform very well at 1440p, but the extra VRAM gives the 6900 XT more breathing room for newer games.
The final decision depends heavily on local availability and pricing. Since you’re buying in Lithuania and local marketplaces have limited stock, compare actual benchmarks for the specific models you can find. At the prices listed, I’d choose the 6900 XT unless you strongly prefer NVIDIA features.
The RTX 3080 Ti is worth considering if you care about NVIDIA’s upscaling, ray tracing, or latency features. Its 12 GB of VRAM is still usable for 1440p, and AMD’s newer upscaling features may have a larger performance cost on older RX 6000 cards. That said, $500 is difficult to justify when the 6900 XT is cheaper.
