My animated custom mouse cursor suddenly became much whiter than it was before. I noticed the change while using a game mod manager, but I don't remember changing any cursor settings. The rest of the display seems normal. What could have caused this, and how can I restore the cursor's original appearance?

It’s also worth checking your display’s color profile, HDR, brightness, or contrast settings. If everything else on the screen looks normal, though, the issue is more likely limited to the cursor theme or its configuration.
Start by checking the cursor settings in Windows, especially the mouse pointer color, size, and accessibility options. A change there could affect how a custom pointer is displayed.
Try switching back to the default Windows pointer temporarily, then reapply the animated cursor. If the default pointer looks normal, reinstalling or resetting the custom cursor theme may fix it.
I’ll check those settings now and see whether the pointer color or accessibility options changed.
